Use the Dialpad UberConference Add-On for Google Calendar to schedule meetings with details such as conference URL, phone number, or PIN automatically inserted for you.
Some additional benefits of the UberConference Add-On include:
- Ability to use schedule meetings in Dialpad UberConference from any browser, not just Chrome
- Ability to add Dialpad UberConference details to an invite from the Google Calendar app on iOS and Android
Let's take a look at how the Dialpad UberConference Add-On for Google Calendar works.
Configure the Dialpad UberConference Add-On
From Google Calendar, navigate to Get Add-Ons and search for UberConference.
Select UberConference for Google Calendar, then install the add-on.
From the Dialpad UberConference dashboard, navigate to Account > Integrations and select Connect Account alongside Google Calendar.
You'll see a request for Dialpad UberConference to access your Google Account's calendar. Select Allow, then return to Dialpad UberConference.
If you go to Account > Integrations, the Google Calendar integration will display a connected label after authentication completes.
Google Workspace (formerly G Suite) Accounts
Google Workspace Admins and users in an organization may notice that Google Meet appears as the default videoconference option.
In order to change this, navigate to the Google Admin Console and select Apps > Google Workspace > Calendar > Sharing Settings. You're able to turn off Google Meet as the default and instead choose Dialpad UberConference after installing the Dialpad UberConference Add-On for Google Calendar.
Create Meeting with Dialpad UberConference
Web
From Google Calendar, create an event and select Add Video Conferencing > UberConference.
Mobile
From the Google Calendar app, select the Plus ('+') icon > Event.
Enter any details related to the event and select Add Conferencing > UberConference.
Dialpad UberConference will then insert the conference URL and phone number, which Google Calendar displays alongside other event-related information.
Sync Meeting Title
Dialpad UberConference and Google Calendar will sync meeting titles. Create an event in Google Calendar, and its title will carry through to UberConference.
- If you're an existing user, navigate to Account > Integrations and select Connect Account alongside Google Calendar to authenticate access
- If you're a new user, first download the Dialpad UberConference Add-On for Google Calendar (instructions above) and then navigate to Account > Integrations and select Connect Account alongside Google Calendar to authenticate access
End-of-Conference (5-Minute) Reminder
Dialpad UberConference displays a 5-minute reminder for any conferences scheduled using the Add-On for Google Calendar or scheduled conferences created directly.
- If you're an existing user, navigate to Account > Integrations and select Connect Account alongside Google Calendar to authenticate access
- If you're a new user, first download the Dialpad UberConference Add-On for Google Calendar (instructions above) and then navigate to Account > Integrations and select Connect Account alongside Google Calendar to authenticate access
It allows the Organizer and all other Participants to understand the conference reached its scheduled end; however, the conference will not officially end until the Organizer ends it or the Participants leave. Each person must dismiss the 5-minute reminder on their own, so the Organizer dismissing it will not do so for any Participants.
Keep in mind that this capability still works even if you've set a Meeting Countdown Timer during the conference. Both the 5-minute reminder and the meeting timer will appear simultaneously in the top-left corner.
